Print a QR code people can actually scan

A practical workflow for choosing QR colors, preserving margins, exporting artwork and checking a print proof.

Start with the destination

Open the intended page on a phone before generating the artwork. Check that it loads without an unexpected sign-in and that the main action is easy to find. For a dynamic FreeQR link, print the saved short link so that later destination changes do not require a new code.

Keep a clear border

Leave a clear margin four QR modules wide on every side. A module is one small square in the pattern. Keep text, frames and other artwork outside that margin. FreeQR Studio adds this space automatically; do not crop it away in a document or print layout.

Use color and logos carefully

Use dark modules on white. Studio enforces a minimum 4.5:1 contrast and keeps a centered logo small, but those safeguards do not guarantee every camera will decode every design. High error correction adds redundancy; it is not permission to cover large portions of the pattern.

Test the actual print

SVG scales cleanly for layout work; PNG is convenient for many document tools. Keep the image square and avoid stretching it. Print one proof at the intended size and material. Try several phones, normal viewing distances and the lighting where the code will be used before ordering a large batch.
